I’m excited to have brad here to discuss the topic of mindfulness. Before we get started let me say, I’m not on anyone’s level! I’m just a writer who enjoys spending time with interesting people and sharing in their lives.
Brad is a philosopher, a recovering addict, a recovering atheist who was once a professional musician. He also has a good friend who is an architect and a friend who is also an architect. He enjoys building and has developed a great interest in architecture.

I mentioned Brady and his friend in my blog post, but now I have to add a couple of other people from his circle.
I first met Brady when we attended a local meet and greet for the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects. I’ve liked Brady a lot ever since, and I can’t imagine him not being an excellent architect. He’s a great artist and I love his work. He’s well-known for his work in the area of sustainable building and he has a great blog.
Brady goes by the name of Brady Schemmel, and he is considered one of the leading architects working in the US. He is a partner at the firm Schemmel and Associates, and he has most recently received the prestigious AIA’s “AIA-Best of Building Design” award.
His most popular work is the building of the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. This is a very famous building, and it has become a symbol of American architectural history. This building has been featured in countless movies and TV shows over the years, and is so iconic that it is frequently called the “American House”. It is definitely a major landmark and many people have been on the lookout for it for years.
It appears that when Brad Schemmel first proposed this building to the Smithsonian, the head of the agency was a little put off by the cost and complexity of his idea. He proposed that the building be built out of steel plates and a single massive foundation. The Smithsonian asked him what he was proposing, and he simply said “Make a building out of plates and that’s all I’ll say.
Sounds like a good plan to me. Now imagine your house is made out of that same material and someone is trying to murder you. That would be pretty scary.
