By When my husband and I built our home in the Bay Area, we knew that we wanted to add a few things to our home that we had no idea were there. One of the first things we did was paint. We knew we wanted the exterior to be a bit more dramatic, so we decided to paint the interior.
It’s a beautiful home with a colorful interior, but like most of the homes we work on, it was painted a dull gray. This meant that it was very difficult to find rooms and locations that were bright and colorful.
In our case we were able to find rooms that were bold and colorful by going to places that had already been painted. By using the paint to highlight the already existing walls, we were able to add more color and pop to the rooms. The rooms were still very boring though, because we had already painted the walls ourselves.
Sometimes it’s hard to find bright colors, but there are a few tricks you can try out. For example, there are rooms in our house that are painted in bright colors like pink and cream, but are we painted them in those colors? No. We’d have to redo each room that had the pink or cream color with a different color. This is where the paint comes in.
For example, this house has a room that is purple. When I was painting it, I noticed that the purple walls were hard to paint and I didn’t like the color. So, I started out by painting the walls pink. But then when I added paint all over the walls, I realized that it was too bright. I then painted the walls pink again but then it was too heavy so I switched to a lighter color. Now, it’s still too bright, but it’s softer.
I think the reason why we don’t like the paint color is because we want to show off the textures of our walls. Paint on a white wall isn’t very bright. On a purple wall is really bright, but the purple is what is dominating. So we start to look at texture when we are painting a room.
It’s true that we have to match our room to the rest of the home. However, this has to be done in a way that will be flattering to the rest of the house, and not make it too cluttered.

A little bit of texture is a good thing. If a wall is painted with a lot of texture, it will feel like a wall that has been on your property for a while. One of my favorite ways to paint a room is to take a picture of a wall from the house, then to paint a picture of the color you want to see on the wall. This will show that the color you are painting is in the middle of the house.
You can also use this technique in a way that’s a little less flattering to the walls. Paint the walls in your house the color you want them to be when you move in. You can paint the rest of the walls a different color if you find that it doesn’t look good together. This would also help to keep the existing color a little more cohesive to the rest of the house.
